Guidance News
The Guidance Office is located across from the main office at the
front of the school. Much of the information that is available in
guidance is given through classroom groups, seminar workshops, and
a self-serve model. There is also time available for individual
appointments.
Information is available re:
• courses you might wish to take, or which you need to consider
taking in high school
• post-secondary programs, e.g. college, university, private vocational
school, apprenticeship, the application process you need to follow
to gain admission to these post-secondary programs
• careers and occupations
• community service community
service record book (word format)
Services and programs are available to help you to
assess your abilities and interests in light of the goals you have
set for yourself and counselors are available on a limited basis
to help you with problems of a personal nature that might be affecting
your performance in school. If necessary, we can help you to make
contact with other “helping” people and agencies. Counselors can’t
make decisions for you, but they are available to assist you and
your parents so that you can make reasonable, realistic and responsible
decisions for yourself.
